Yesterday was election day for the 2016 United States Presidential Election. The world watched anxiously as the most brutal and unconventional U.S. Election came to a close. The result were shocking:

This is being coined as the biggest upset to be seen in political history. Donald Trump was an unlikely candidate from the very beginning. Having no history of political involvement he promises to upset the political system and get rid of the corrupt ways of the establishment. Apparently, his campaign was affective.
From the beginning, the focus of the campaign was on character defamation. Candidates Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump focused more on tearing one another down than building a strong personal stance. It was cutthroat and brutal campaign.
In the wake of last nights events there was strong emotional reaction to the journey and in turn the outcome of the election. Over the course of the last 11 months, the american people have taken sides in the most hostile of elections the nation has seen. Opposing sides were so strongly suited against one another that this election has spurred disruptive conversations, arguments among friends and ruining of relationships. There are those in between without a preference of one candidate over the other: calling it a decision between the lesser of two evils. Those who chose sides, however, stand firmly in their support.
